Since summer is coming I'm looking for some ways to upgrade my home, wardrobe and accessories. However, between the parties, vacations and happy hours, summer is going to be an expensive few months. Instead of breaking the bank I'll be investigating some ways to refresh for less. Today we'll be starting with a diy cell phone case that you can do for just a couple of dollars (or maybe no money at all depending on what you have laying around the house).
InstructionsCut the lace/fabric/paper to fit the back of your cell phone case. Make sure you can stand the color of the case because you're still going to see it. I was lazy and simply cut the lace so that it wouldn't cover the camera lens but you can also cover the whole back if you take time to cut a hole. Leave some excess lace/fabric/paper hanging off the side so that it can wrap around the edge of the case and stick better. Next, paint the entire case in Modge Podge with your brush, making sure to seal in the edges. Let your case dry completely and then use a toothpick to pull away excess Podge that may have dried in the crevices. When you're done it will look like the picture on the right. The Modge Podge creates a waterproof seal that dries shiny and keeps everything in place. Now you've got an updated cellphone case for little to know money, can't beat that. |
