It's a rainy Tuesday here in NYC which makes it a good day to stay inside and get projects done if you don't have to be in work. Since I am in the office today and can't do any of my own projects I thought I'd share one that I did over vacation. My boyfriend's mom gave us a large frame that she had laying around her apartment a few months ago. I liked the frame itself but the color needed some updating and I wasn't sure what I was going to put in it so it sat around my apartment for awhile. I finally grabbed some spray paint, cork board and wrapping paper and made something that fit our apartment perfectly.
I turned this old empty frame into a beautiful announcement board for our entry way. We get a lot of invitations to engagement parties, weddings, baby showers, etc. since all of a sudden all of our friends decided to grow up. I hate putting everything on the fridge with magnets because we're always knocking them down. So I decided to make a display board that we can switch up every few months.
To make your own all you need is an old frame, a roll of cork, spray paint (optional) and wrapping paper. First I spray painted the entire frame with leftover gold pain that I had (of course I forgot to take a picture of just the spray painted frame, but you get the idea).

I then cut the cork board to fit the frame and covered the front of it in a cool wrapping paper (i chose my favorite colors, navy and white). Then just staple gun the cork to the frame and wallah, you've got a display board.
The best part is, we can switch up the wrapping paper to go with the seasons and take down the old invitations and announcements to make room for new ones. It's an easy way to switch up your decor and keep things interesting.
