You'll learn that themed gifts are pretty much my favorite kind of gift to give. They're great when you aren't sure of what to get someone you might not know that well or if you see a ton of smaller items that you know a person would really love but wouldn't be enough on their own. Since I've done this kind of gifting before I knew that Marshalls would be a good place to start. They always have really unique items and their Homegoods section is extensive. These cupcake holders and printed napkins were a perfect find for my idea.
Finally, I added a printed tag to tie to the whole thing together, and because what good is Valentine's Day without something to snack on, a bag of their favorite candy. I ended up with really sweet and original Valentine's Day gifts that I'm excited to give out at the end of the week. The best part is each kit came out to less than $10! Themed gift kits are a great (and usually inexpensive) gift to give. They're easy to personalize and what person doesn't like to open up a bag full of fun stuff to use?
Next I went to Target since they're usually good for smaller knickknacks. I was psyched when I found these heart shaped cookie cutters and sprinkles. The sprinkles actually came in a pack of four so I broke them up and added a tube to each baking kit.
I don't know about where you are but Monday morning in NYC is a cold and icy one. In an attempt to warm up my mood I thought I'd share the Valentine's Day gifts I put together this weekend for the girls at work. Obviously I get something special for my main Valentine each year but I always have fun pulling something small together for my friends too. Since doing the usual candy and card gets a little stale I thought I'd do something a little different this year and give the ladies supplies to make their own treats. After a little brainstorming I came up with these adorable Valentine's Day baking kits.
So that's that. I'll be getting back to my freezing cold Monday in the NYC tundra. Hopefully I've provided some inspiration if you're still looking for gifts to give your friends this Saturday... if not I guess head to Pinterest because you're running out of time here people.
